Conversations & Desks

Blabble organizes your conversations into Desks — smart folders that help you focus on what matters. Select a desk in the sidebar to filter the conversation list.

Super conversations

A Super conversation is automatically created when Blabble detects that you have conversations with exactly the same members across multiple platforms — for example, both iMessage and WhatsApp. Marked with an indigo S badge. The matching rule is strict: each child conversation must have exactly the same set of members.

Tip — To see the individual conversations inside a Super conversation, choose Conversations → Show Individual Conversations from the menu bar. Toggle back with ⌘L.

Custom conversations

A Custom conversation is one you create yourself by merging two or more conversations via drag and drop. Marked with a teal C badge. To ungroup, right-click the conversation and choose Ungroup.

  1. Enable Show Grouped Conversations (⌘L).
  2. Drag one conversation onto another in the list.
  3. Continue dragging more conversations onto it to add them.

Bubble tint

By default, message bubbles are tinted by platform — blue for iMessage, green for WhatsApp. Toggle Unified Bubble Tint (⌘U) to use a single color for all platforms.

Message toolbar

The toolbar above the message list shows the source types present in the currently selected conversation, a search field, and a date range for filtering messages.

Tip — Click a source type icon (e.g. the iMessage, WhatsApp, or Mail icon) in the toolbar to show or hide messages from that source. This lets you quickly filter the message list to only the platforms you want to see.

Message details

Each message shows its timestamp, read status, and quick-action buttons for tasks like quick look, exporting, and more.

Tip — For email bubbles, you can open the original message in the Mail app by double-clicking the bubble, or by clicking the mail icon in the message's date header toolbar.

Deleting conversations and messages

To delete a conversation, select it in the conversation list and press . To delete an individual message, click the move to Deleted desk button in the message's header toolbar.

Deleted conversations and messages are moved to the Deleted desk, where you can restore them if needed. To permanently remove them, go to the Deleted desk and click Empty Now.

Important — Deleting in Blabble only removes content from Blabble's own copy of the data. It does not delete or alter anything in the original source — your Messages, WhatsApp, or Mail databases remain untouched.

Translating and summarizing

Right from the Conversations menu, you can:

  • Translate (⌘⇧T) — Translate the selected conversation in the agent drawer.
  • Summarize (⌘⇧U) — Get a summary of the selected conversation.
